Individual Why Discovery

Over these two days, our Igniters will guide you through a process to discover and articulate your personal WHY — the purpose, cause or belief that inspires you.

We'll also help you define your HOWs — the actions that put you at your natural best as you bring your WHY to life.

You will then examine WHAT you do to ensure it is a consistent representation of who you are at your natural best.

About this workshop

When we clearly understand our own WHY, we can gain a greater sense of purpose and direction within our organizations, our communities, our relationships, and beyond. When we’re at our very best, living a life filled with work and relationships that matter to us, the natural result is greater fulfillment. This is not only good for us — it contributes to the well-being and long-term progress of those around us.

In this workshop, you will discover and articulate the force that drives your fulfillment in simple language that inspires action. Once that’s captured in a Why Statement, we’ll continue working outward through The Golden Circle to formulate a concrete, applicable, and authentic set of values that will become your HOWs.

Whether you’re looking for ways to find better balance in life, more fulfillment at work, or more consistency in your relationships, this workshop will equip you with tools necessary to begin making meaningful change immediately.

In this workshop, you will:

Gain a foundational knowledge of The Golden Circle.
We'll break down Simon Sinek's concept to create an understanding of every level and how they work together to make up your unique Golden Circle.

Work with peers to discover and articulate your individual WHY and HOWs.
Through storytelling in small groups to help each other explore the origin of your WHY, every participant will leave with a first draft of their own personal Why Statement and a set of HOWs. You'll also walk out with ideas, tools and practices to amplify your Golden Circle.

Learn what makes a simple, inspiring Why Statement and truly actionable HOWs.
Articulating your purpose, cause, or belief in an authentic way that’s clear and useful is harder than you may think. So is drafting a set of meaningful values. To help you make your HOWs directive and actionable, your Start With Why Igniter will teach you our tried-and-true method for converting ideas into effective language.

Explore ways to begin bringing your WHY and HOWs to life.
So you’ve got a great WHY and set of HOWs… Now what? Through group instruction and personalized coaching, your Igniter will help you with some candidates for action and potential next steps for implementing your WHY and HOWs.

Who is this workshop for?
Leadership is not a rank or a position. Leadership is a choice. It is the choice to look after the person to the left of us and the person to the right of us. This workshop is designed for anyone who wishes to take care of those in their charge.

Will Simon Sinek attend the workshop?
Simon is our WHY guy and this workshop is all about how to bring your WHY to life. This is the reason one of our hand-picked Igniters will be facilitating this experience. Simon will not be in attendance.

I have colleagues/friends who would like to attend with me, can we submit one application?
Unfortunately, no. It’s important for the design of this workshop for each individual to apply on their own.

What is included in the $1750 workshop fee?
This fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch and drinks (coffee, tea & water) on both days, a workbook and your attendance for both days of the workshop.

Can you recommend nearby hotels?
All selected applicants will receive an email with details including hotel recommendations nearby.

Can I make social/work plans on workshop days?
This is an immersive experience. To gain the most from this workshop, we ask that you engage fully during each day. Many participants have found it valuable to take time to rest and reflect on the work they’ve completed that day. Instructors may ask that you do some light studying/reflecting between days 1-2. There is also an opportunity to socialize and build deeper relationship with your fellow participants. You are, of course, free to do as you choose. However, we do recommend you keep your schedule completely committed to these two days.

What is the dress code?
We suggest smart casual.

What do I need to bring?
Please bring a pen and a notebook.
